| BACKGROUND |

| Die
Korea Biotechnology Research Association wurde in den 1980ern gegründet
und führte von da an die Forschung und Entwicklung auf dem Gebiet
der Biotechnologie an. In den 1990ern wurde die BioIndustry Association
of Korea gegründet, deren Aufgabe es war, die Biotech-Industrie
Koreas zu unterstützen und voranzutreiben. Mittlerweile haben
die Forschungsergebnisse ein Niveau erreicht, das eine Massenproduktion
zuläßt. Ohne dem unermüdlichen Einsatz solcher Organisationen
und den Mitarbeitern, wäre dieser rasche Fortschritt nicht denkbar
gewesen. |

In
the 1980s, the Korea Biotechnology Research Association was established
and led the biotechnology research and development in Korea. In the
1990s, BioIndustry Association of Korea was established, which then
laid the foundation for the advancement of the Korean biotech industry.
Today, a level has been reached where we could expect to begin mass
production of the results of the research. This would not have been
made possible without the incessant efforts of such organizations
and manpower of the biotech industry. |
| Der
Grundstein für die Korea Biotechnology Research Association (KoBioVen)
wurde am 18.Juli 2000 in Korea im Rahmen einer feierlichen Veranstaltung
gelegt. Hauptaugenmerk von KoBioVen liegt auf dem Support von Biotech
Unternehmen. Durch das gezielte Aufdecken typischer Probleme der koreanischen
Biotech-Industrie und dem Anbieten von Lösungsvorschlägen
und Hilfestellungen, versucht KoBioVen Energien zu bündeln und
Synergien zu nutzen. Es wurde eine Plattform geschaffen zum Austausch
von Informationen und zur Unterstützung der technologischen Entwicklung
und industriellen Produktion. Weiterhin zum Austausch von Management
Knowledge und zur Verbesserung des Expertenwissens. |

Korea
Bio Venture Association (KoBioVen) is a corporation established through
an inaugural assambly on July 18th, 2000. KoBioVen will be a companion
to the growth of bio venture companies by collecting and solving common
problems of our country´s biotech industry related venture companies.
It will also help in exchanging information, supporting technological
developments and industralization, activating the exchange of management
knowledge and increasing the level of expertise in this area. |

All
diese Bemühungen KoBioVens dienen der Steigerung der internationalen
Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der koreanischen Biotech-Industrie und
verstehen sich als Beitrag zur Stärkung der koreanischen Wirtschaft.

Through
these efforts, KoBioVen intends to strengthen the international competiviteness
of our bio venture and contribute to the country´s economy. |
